I cannot for the life of me understand how the YW can conclude that the handball incident involving Scales is materially different from the handball incident involving Fadinger, the two are pretty much identical.

I'm beginning to think the YW is a paid up member of the Yorkshire West Riding 198 and or the Yorkshire North & East Ridings 98 after all they do have about 7500-8500 members between them! 😂

A methodological point: in the St Mirren match, if the Durán decision (xPts 0.60) had been made correctly, then the xPts for the Scales decision (0.54) would have been reduced. I don’t think you can meaningfully add the two values.

(It’s like adding xG for a shot and a rebound. Over a season, the xG is high enough that it doesn’t matter, but the xPts differences from the YW work are usually quite small.)
