Liam Scales remains a contentious Celtic player from what I read and hear about him within the fan media and online universe. Our own Alan Morrison has referenced his superior pack passing data, and we recently had some subscriber inquiries about the topic, so I decided to take a refreshed look.
Alan shared longer-term metrics in his piece from April. One of the elements I look to try and account for as part of attributing factors such as team, role, and player-specific performance is unit-based value. This is oriented to try and determine players that may be compilers - i.e. the accumulate counting statistics due to volume versus quality.
