A battle of two in-form keepers
Jack Butland’s 2023-2024 season was an odd journey, with a delightful conclusion for Celtic supporters. From August 2023 through February 2024, Butland performed at an excellent level. He benchmarked at 80% or higher across many goal keeper-specific performance metrics versus keepers playing outside the Big 5 leagues. His shot stopping, in particular, was excellent. Then….he fell off of a cliff.
