Martin O'Neill's final game adds emotional poignancy amidst the winter slog
It was all about the legendary Martin O’Neill on a cold night at Celtic Park.
As Wilfried Nancy said, “Wow! What a guy.” Indeed.
O’Neill has steadied a morose and listing crew and deserves thanks and credit for navigating a really tough period in the season.
The gap has closed to Heart of Midlothian, an apt handing off point to the Frenchman.
This was not a stylish win, and Dundee sensed a point towards the end.
A Celtic side lacking rotation tired badly.
One player stood out and is arguably in the best form of his Celtic career. O’Neill’s more open and slightly more direct style seems to fit this player in particular.
