Talking about KT & AJ's ability to fulfil the wing back role, it is ironic that Didier Agathe did the half time draw on Monday!
I agree with Argen that Yang can play that role on the right. I would actually consider playing him as an orthodox right back although he still has some way to go defensively.
I came away from the game feeling a bit more positive than l expected although completely agree that Duran is wasted on the right.
My biggest frustration was the last five minutes or so. This resorting to hoof ball rather than defending by controlling the ball 'does my heed in'.
On the winger situation: If going the 352 wingback route, Yang suddenly becomes valuable again, and Donovan's (relative) athleticism/youth could bring value. Just wondering what happens with Forrest (backup forward?), Tounekti, and Jota if/when he returns. The left side is more concerning for reasons discussed.
A summer of preparation under MON should surely allow some flexibility to switch between back 3/4. The "don't change too much mid season" principle no longer applies. But you never know with the coaching.
Looks like Hearts have a tough qualifying route for Europe, good chance they won’t have the burden of midweek European matches to manage.
