Let us start off with the obvious human failing of attempting to analyze Hayato Inamura - we are all plausibly biased by the unsuccessful signing of Yuki Kobayashi…he of a grand total of 629 minutes played at Celtic. Of course, it is not rational to allow the specifics of one signing to cloud that of another, which is partly why deploying a robust process can be helpful.

Kobayahsi had just turned 22 years old when signed (played last season at Portimonense in Segunda Liga in Portugal) in 2022, where as Inamura just turned 23 this May. Both are left footed and have played material minutes as LCB’s for their respective clubs in Japan. Kobayashi may be a little bit taller, but the rest of the comparative information will be left to the spreadsheets!
