Heart of Midlothian 3, Celtic 1 - October 26th, 2025
It was the end, we just didn't know it.
To add to problems I didn’t know we had, Celtic tired badly after a Europa League Thursday, and ultimately wilted into shot-less impotence at Tynecastle after a reasonable and lively first half.
The decision to play two inexperienced defenders on the right backfired horribly in a way it only can when the football variance Gods have decided you are getting it.
It will also sound terribly churlish to suggest Heart of Midlothian were not all that. Hard working, direct, pressing like maniacs, and yes, a totally deserved win. Not having European football will be an advantage as well.
But also, lots of gaps in midfield which Celtic failed to exploit.
A raging against the dying of the light Bhoy of the Match this week. Slim pickin’s again, so fill yer boots with any ideas of who you would have chosen.
A change of manager can surely only help.
Hopefully, no more favourites and chances for the shunned.
Maybe a different shape and approach to suit.
We can dream. Otherwise, it may well be Bloom-time.
