Limiting The Opposition

How Lennon, Postecoglou and now Rodgers have approached limiting opposition threat and what this says about squad strength.

I tend to focus on Celtic’s data when analysing performances.

Yet, for every data point at the team level collected, there is an equivalent for the opposition. Today, then, I want to look at the extent to which different managers have impacted the opposition's play.

Whilst this would also be interesting comparing the Champions League for example, the European runs per season are all against quite different levels of opposition and small samples.

So, I’ll focus on comparison with domestic opponents.

This season sees Brendan Rodgers season two. Let’s go back across both Ange Postecoglou seasons and the two Neil Lennon seasons prior to that.
