Midfield Stress Test
A simple means of assessing how the midfield is coping under stressed conditions - namely well-organised opponents of a slightly higher quality
It’s all good fun this week and another trophy in the cabinet is to be celebrated.
The manner of victory – a sickening penalty shootout with added lashings of refereeing controversy such that your opponent can choke on their bile-ridden pumped-up entitlement - was a bonus garnish of chocolate sprinkles.
In the sober analysis world, we are not averse to a get-it-right-up-ye! And the x-Schadenfreude is well above the “1” minimum threshold.
All that can coexist with the more prosaic task at hand of worrying about how this football team improves.
We’ve identified on the podcast several areas that furrow the ol’ brow. Or brows. We’re not yet at the mono-brow age. Hrumph.
The midfield is a consternation with a particularly high bothersome index. New metric that. Merry Christmas!
