In this week’s episode of The Huddle Breakdown, James and Alan break down the rapidly escalating risks surrounding Celtic’s season amid a turbulent managerial transition, squad injuries, and a congested fixture schedule.
Great episode guys but not sure I agree with the Rohl verdicts. So far the stats for his league games have been very similar to Martins start only he played tougher opposition in ECL qualifiers.
Thats 4 league games where they took an xG hammering from Hibs, Narrow coin flips from Killie and Livingston at home (granted later is after the pod) and a narrow xG win against Dundee akin to when we lost 2-0 but they won 3-0.
Fair play in terms of it all comes down to results but their performances suggest they are due to drop points again soon and it sounds like VAR and officials had a hand in today’s victory, there is what looks like a definite missed penalty for Livi at least.
Apart from the Hibs game it has also been a favourable run of fixtures for them. To me the upturn in results for Rangers seems to be down to extreme positive variance in terms of their own finishing, poor goalkeeping against them and poor finishing from their opponents, particularly their own finishing massively outperforming their xG.
