The Rangers 1, Celtic 1 - May 4th, 2025
The final derby of the season saw an outbreak of "sister kissing". A match and environment best avoided.
The trend of coin flip derbies continued with a range of <1.0 xG differentials depending on which vendor you get your data from.
Nedball took on yet more odd shapes and approaches whilst injury hit Celtic meandered through the game, butchering most of the promising moments presented.
We saw a classic mixed bag from Adam Idah, whilst James Forrest tried to roll back the years and Daizen Maeda fight off the jet lag.
Interest fell mainly in the full-back areas where space and time were abundant, but quality was lacking. And in midfield, an “are they/aren’t they” approach to man-to-man marking added a certain frisson.
Bhoy of the Match was interesting, and the decision was mainly more subjective. A performance of tactical maturity swung the vote!
