What a weekend for Fine Margins, with the tectonic-plate-shifting-epicenter having unfolded Saturday at Fir Park between Motherwell and Hearts. I will not be revisiting every contentious call within the two big games, as the pressure and stakes seem to have some questioning every referee and VAR decision.
With referees also in the pressure cooker, I respected the consistency within the first game relative to the 2 contentious penalty-related incidents and the alleged foul on Welsh that preceded Shankland’s goal…i.e. no weak-as-piss calls. However, personally found the Shankland shove to be the least weak-as-piss of the three incidents.
