Join Alan, Laura and James as they look back on our draw with St Mirren this past weekend, James Forrest’s 16 seasons of goals and look around the rest of the league as change is afoot all over the place.
Thinking forward to the summer, I wonder if you would consider doing an analysis of Postecoglou’s two seasons at Spurs relative to his time at Celtic? I only really follow Celtic, and so haven’t seen any of Spurs’ games, but from others I know who have the narrative appears to be solidly one of an ideologue manager whose inflexibility is easily exploited, especially relative to teams with good coaches and good players, such as most in the Premier League.
Those who defend Postecoglou, on the other hand, cite the injury list Spurs had this season – and, given the size of this list, with the length of some injuries, it seems there is something in this. Whether we can say that Postecoglou is blame free here, with the intensity of his training/game plans, is something to be determined also.
Added to this, it seems that Postecoglou deliberately focused on the Europa League at the expense of the Premier League – at least this is what he is saying now, in the aftermath of winning the Europa League (apparently, others in the Spurs hierarchy didn’t share in the wisdom of this approach!). Notably, they won the final playing in a distinctively un-Postecoglou manner - showing that pragmatism is not wholly an anathema to him (apparently, he tells us know that he always said knock-out games are different and demand a different focus...).
So, I wondered if Alan and James would be able to tease out the main determining factors relative to Postecoglou at Spurs and Postecoglou at Celtic?
For those who say: ‘but what does this have to do with Celtic?’, it seems to me that it would help put his time at Celtic in context and thus help me at least understand how to place Postecoglou relative to Rodgers and what might come after.
Cracking comment, I follow a channel, big Shah and Keepa's On The Volley, an Arsenal (and Keepa is a Newcastle fan) who talks about Ange's stint at Spurs on top of a recently new love for our beloved Celtic and I'd be interested in this analysis too. HH
Apologies Jamie - both delays the last week were due to software/internet problems. It takes some time for the audio/video files to upload/download (even with good broadband) and problems can push back the timeline to get recorded shows published.
So far they have been one-offs but will be proactive in seeking software alternatives if issues become frequent/persistent.
No bother James, just a little tongue in cheek.
Love the podcasts. I do s bit of driving for work now and then so the podcasts keep me going.
Another great podcast guys!

Hello Kieran - have actually thought about this a lot so per your request, will organize and turn into a column...probably for early June.
Thanks James: look forward to it!
Podcasts getting later every week lads. I had to listen to superscoreboard this morning.🤨
