In this episode of The Huddle Breakdown, Laura Bradburn, James, and Alan dissect a pivotal 3-1 victory over Rangers that has firmly placed the title within Celtic's reach.
Wise words from Laura: Celtic’s first 2 goals were much more important than Daizen’s spectacular overhead kick. It was fantastic to see Celtic attacking at speed again, finding space in the channels and picking out mobile attackers with cutbacks to provide deadly finishes in front of the goal.
Oh, and Daizen only got to take his outrageous shot because his first touch was so awful! 😉
I've noticed that Daizen Maeda's crazy purple patch last season kicked off exactly after we sold Idah, when he was moved to centre-forward. It's the exact same pattern this season — he contributed next to nothing early on, but after being shifted to centre-forward just before the split, he's exploded again.
It might just be a coincidence, and plenty of fans still insist his best position is on the wing, but looking at his goals and assists from last season and this one, I'm not so sure anymore. Also when he is no9 there is more goalkeeper pressing, last year he scored against BM at home then made that amazing contribution to Khuns goal. Im sure the Bayern games put him firmly on the map for a big move which we screwed up, I dont think he's downed tools this season, just not been playing in a strong team and constantly on the left.
Still buzzing from the game on Sunday. Maybe it's just giddiness from being amongst happy Celtic fans but I felt I was looking at a team that discovered a level of energy and desire that was missing for huge spells of the season. If we carry on like that we will win the league. Needless to say, I will be shitting myself come kick off at Fir Park. HH
Belated 'Happy Birthday!' Alan :D I'm 48 on Sunday :P
I winced on the AJ challenge. It was blindside, and AFTER he got the ball, but he did hit him above the ankle and with the Lanarkshire Ref Association... the classic "We gave him a decision to make".
How often do thy not take that opportunity whether we deserve to take the hit or not?
Our Bhoy Maeda is on fire, what a parting gift these last few games, from Daizen!
Happy days, eh? Here's hoping we get 6 points from 6 HH

“Psychological muscle memory” Chapeau.
Sorry Philip, don't follow
It’s a shorthand way of virtually doffing my cap/hat to AM regarding the phrase used in the intro.
I’ve shamelessly borrowed it from Phil MacGhiollabhain.
