While my plan had been to write this week about a discussion amongst subscribers regarding Liam Scales’ passing, I decided to pivot after watching Saturday’s game versus Livingston.
Very interesting James. Tells us something about Inamura and probably quite a lot about Taylor. Inamura is a very good passer of the ball and he does it quickly. He sees the game very quickly. And he looks to have a tough/confident mindset. We could do with that in the team. BRs comments on him were probably a combination of he needs to develop physically/improve defensively and his ongoing “the Board are great”/“The Board lack ambition” confusing narrative.
I agree Inamura definitely good enough to be part of our squad. Although as a reminder, he was bought as a CB. Thanks. Brian
I was at the game on Saturday and thought exactly this re inverted fullback. Particularly against stuffy teams who do little attacking. If we have Scales or Trusty at LCB and Johnston at RB able to tuck in as a RCB then we'll have our 3 CBs (CCV as main) for cover and two CMs who can track to give us a 5 in counter attacking situations.
It would clearly be madness to play him at Tynecastle or St Mirren Park etc...but home games for most part I think he'd be okay.
He had one rash pass towards end of game where he played it into central area right to Livi player but this was something that I've seen more experienced players (Greg Taylor, McCowan, Engels, Ralston) do regularly. He also has good recovery pace. He'd be wasted at CB imo.
I hope he doesn't go out on loan. I like the look of him and I'd rather see him as cover for KT than Scales. The Ginger Baressi has enough on his plate without having to switch to LB.
Sorry Juco, I took ages to read this.
_'Liam Scales’ passing'_
Me: OMG what happened to big Liam?! /j
Pace, vision, technically able? B-b-b-b-but he played in blue and orange?! /j
I love his crisp accuracy, I think he was built or the Kairat Almaty game tbh, I hope be eventually breaks thru, whether it takes a loan or not.
See Ajer, CalMac or Christie, loans don't always signal the end at Celtic HH

My opinion might change, though, if we sign the Boca Juniors dude.
